Europe From a Backpack publishes travel writing for the "Budget, Independent, and Youth Travel" market. Europe From a Backpack was the first in a series that now includes Italy From a Backpack and Spain From a Backpack.
Mark Pearson is an avid reader and traveler. After studying art history in Rome and backpacking around Europe for four weeks, Mark decided to compile a collection of the best backpacking stories he could find. So, he created the Europe From a Backpack series. He also publishes other non-fiction books through Pear Press. The first title was Dennis Bakke’s national bestseller, Joy at Work: A Revolutionary Approach to Fun on the Job . The latest project is John Medina's Brain Rules: 12 Principles for Surviving and Thriving at Work, Home, and School . He lives and works in Seattle.
Martin Westerman, who has lived in and backpacked around Europe, is the author of How to Flirt, Easy Green, TheBusiness Environmental Handbook and hundreds of articles. He lectures on communications and sustainable business practices for the University of Washington Business School in Seattle, Washington, where he lives with his wife, two sons, and edible garden.
Tracy Cutchlow has traveled in Europe, China, New Zealand, Central America, the U.S. and Mexico. Backpacking is her favorite way to go. After working as a copy editor at The Oregonian, The Capital Times and The Seattle Times, she produced a number of award-winning multimedia projects for seattletimes.com. Tracy now lives in San Francisco and edits books.
